Betty Rides Day Dream Manic Jacket

I had this jacket picked out last year and was very excited the multi color was just what I wanted. Then come to get it and there are no gaiters in the wrist area...this is no good for utah powder. There is no medium pocket access from the outside of the jacket like all my other betty rides jackets. The media pocket is a small spot where an Ipod can fit snuggly. there is one other lower inner waist pocket but it is just annoying. The large is bigger than their other larges, the medium is bigger than other betty rides mediums. I need right in between. Switched from large to medium for a better fit, but the sleeves are not as long as I like and with no wrist gaiters that makes for cold arms which kept the rest of my body really cold. The zipper gets stuck at the bottom and is really hard to get started zipping up or to unzip to take off. This was the same on the other sizes I tried on, so it will be the same on all.

I have taken this jacket and used it in many different things and climates as the photos show. I do still like the jacket, just wish it was warmer for me to use it with everything I do all the time.

More photos to come as I get people to take shots of me doing stuff.

Tru TV top 20 most shockin

Here is my Tru TV top 20 most shocking segment

Left Zip or Right Zip?

A discussion at work arose about the topic of are you a Left zip or a Right zip sleeping bag user?

I have decided I am an ambidextrous sleeping bag zipper-upper.

One question I have pondered over is....does the world mold us into a right or left zip person?
Your first sleeping bag as a child could mold the rest of your camping lifestyle for your life!

We are going to help you decide what you are....

1. Are you right handed or left?
2. When cutting meat do you put your fork in your opposite hand from your dominate one, then cuse your dominate hand to cut the meet with...then do you switch your fork back to your dominate hand to eat or do you keep the fork in the other hand and eat the meat with your non dominate hand?
3. Right handed - Do you wipe with your left or right after going to the bathroom?
Left handed - Do you wipe with your left or right after going to the bathroom?
4. Right handed - do you ride regular of goofy?
Left handed - do you ride goofy or regular?

So here now grade your quiz.

If you answered Right handed to question 1, then grade your score off this:
2. if you put the fork back in your right hand after cutting to eat it then you get 1 point
if you left the fork in your left hand and ate your meat then you get 2 points

3. left hand - 2 points
Right hand - 1 point

4. regualr - 1 point
goofy 2-points

If you answered Left handed for question number 1 - Left handed the grade your quiz off these scores

2. if you put the fork back in your left hand after cutting to eat it then you get 1 point
if you left the fork in your right hand and ate your meat then you get 2 points

3. left hand - 1 point
Right hand - 2 points

4. regualr - 2 points
goofy - 1 point

5-6-points you are a ambidextrous sleeping bag zipper
4 - points you may be able to go both ways, but it will feel a little akward, but you could deal
1-3 points - You are just a left or a right zipper person
Left handed - most often will be a right side zip person
Right handed - most often will be a left side zip person

Now a little exercise. Lay down on your back...imagine you are in a tent and you just got in your sleeping bag. Reach to zip up the zipper....where did you reach first....right or left side of your body?

Remember, my quiz is not fool proof...there will always be the weird mutant human people who defy the results....

So the next time you are shopping for a sleeping bag and the option...left or right zip to choose from, you will now know which will help your camping experience have the best flow when it comes to zipping up your sleeping bag.

RED R.E.D Burton Avid Helmet

I really like this helmet. It is much different than my giro helmet, but after many years in it and many falls it finally needed replacing. I got that helmet for free from the rep so when I found out how much it cost to get it I was in shock and knew I needed a different option. So I went to www.saltypeaks.com which is my sponsor and use some photo credit to get the RED avid helmet. I got it in a small, which is a good size for me. I have a small head. I think an XS might have been perfect but they did not have one nor do I know if they make one. I took all the inside liners out and I used a beanie that I made on my knitting loom. This allows me to wear my goggles under my helmet...style points. This helmet is SUPER light weight! Everyone comments when they pick it up at how light it is. It is a big bulkier in size than I am used to but I am learning to love it. I have taken a few head falls in the park and this has not let me down. It is rated for multiple big falls...which note that helmets will only protect you to a certain degree at high speed hits. When I had the ear pads in it there is so much padding that I couldn't hear what my friends were saying and I am a snowboard coach so I need to be able to hear, hence taking them out and doing a beanie. Overall this helmet is great, I put a pom pom on it to give it some extra flair. I would say buy this helmet, it will help save your noggin and brain.

Coal Rosa Beanie

This beanie is awesome. I have a small to medium size head and it fits great. I am wearing it right now. It is a nice and thick material so it is not cold when it is snowing and windy. I have it in the fuchsia and sea foam. great beanie!

These goggles are awesome! I have a narrow face. I would consider myself a small face, on the small size of medium size face. These fit perfectly! I have a hard time with smith goggles they don't fit my noise correctly. Electrics are another brand goggles that fit me good. I like the sizzles better, they feel more light weight on my face. They fit perfect with my giro helmet.
The foam is good quality and helps keep my face warm. The strap has rubber on it to help keep them in place. The Beirut By Night Pink/Bronze Chrome color is actually a neon pink, not the rose color it looks like.

Super Freak Jacket:

I got this jacket in a large. I normally wear a medium and a medium would have fit perfect, but I like to put a light down coat layer inside. I coach snowboarding and standing around in the cold, I need to be able to layer good. The large is a little big on me, but that is in style right now. It is a warm coat and the colors are great! I get tons of great compliments on this jacket. It is my favorite jacket I have owned so far.

Siouxsie Pant:

I just put these pants on and they are awesome!! I wear medium in everything and the mediums fit me so good, but a little tight in the thighs. They are super fitted so if you are huge into layering go a size up. But if you really want to look awesome just get a great thin baselayer and wear the fitted size! They are movable and you don't feel too stiff in these. I have long legs and the mediums have a great length for me. You can make these flair out even more than the picture shows! I have one pair in the mediums and 2 pairs in large. They are awesome and I love them so much!

Scott Eight8 Down Jacket - Women's

Scott Eight8 Down Jacket

This jacket is awesome! I have it in a medium and it fits me perfectly. Everyone loves the baffling on it. The only downside to the baffling is it is welded and so where the baffling is there is no insulation. I was in Jacksonhole and wearing is casually and I had a t-shirt under it and my arms got a tad cold where the baffling is. I just wear a long sleeve under it now and it is a great. Keeps me super warm. The fabric is not stiff, it is very soft and movable. So cute and awesome. you will love it!

I get tons of great comments and compliments when I wear this jacket. So far this winter I have used it under my snowboard shell to keep me extra warm and it has worked well. I don't feel puffy and chubby in this jacket. It is perfect in every way!

For all of you who read my blog or reviews see I talk about having a fused back. Well tomorrow 10-08-08 marks the 3rd anniversary from shattering my back. tomorrow exactly 3 years ago I went off the gap jump that almost destroyed my life. But through a miracle and friends and my families support I am able to live life to the fullest! YEAH!

10-08-08 - 3rd anniversary from shattering my back

This is a video I made for an aleve contest with a cash purse of 20,000 dollars. I did not win. bummer. It would have helped pay off my medical debt from breaking my back.

Necky Eliza Kayak

This boat kicks butt!! I took it down to lake Powell and toured all over and in canyons and everything. This has amazing handling and it has a better size cockpit for a women's shape. using the rudder on it this thing could turn on a dime. It has good bungees on it, I collected 45 pieces of trash in Powell and put them under the bungees as i found them. the dry storage is really good. I did not have a problem with any water coming into it at all. I had dry sacks but i do not know if i really needed them! This is a really quick boat also. My friends were in their perception Carolinas and I was cruising past them and would turn around and come back to them and then turn around and wizz past them. in choppy waters this performed awesome as well. It just flew through those white caps and waves. I never once felt unstable even with waves coming from the side hitting me.
